4 Key Questions To Answer Before You Begin The Branding Process
It’s exciting to start a new business or do a rebrand for an existing business. However, don’t jump into the branding process unless you have answered the following four questions:
1. What is the purpose of your brand?
Find your WHY behind what you do.
2. What are your core brand values?
Take a couple of minutes and write down anything that your business values. Take a break then come back to it later and narrow it down to your top five. Take a look at Whole Foods’ core values as an example. wholefoodsmarket.com/mission-values/core-values
3. Who is your target audience?
Get to know who your ideal customer is by answering the following questions: What is their gender? How old are they? What is their style? What is their profession? How much money do they make? What do they do for fun? What are their goals and desires? etc...
4. What is your mission statement?
This comes after you determine your purpose, values and target audience. Format your mission statement like this:
I help (your target audience) with (what you offer) through (how do you do it/how are you different).
Here is my mission statement for example:
I help passionate entrepreneurs and small business owners with branding through branding packages that will equip them with all the tools they need to launch their brand with confidence and ease.
Once you get this statement nailed down, you can spice it up a bit and add your brand voice/personality then add it to your website homepage!
